LTC Joseph ("Joe") Funderburke graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1995. In this interview he relates his story about getting an appointment to West Point after an enlisted stint in the active duty Army, followed by a year at the USMA Prep School. LTC Funderburke commissioned into the Signal Corps and spent many of his company grade years supporting special operations forces in both stateside and overseas locations, including several deployments to the Middle East. He also discusses some of his assignments as a field grade officer, including service with the Strategic Studies Group for both the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and the Chief of Staff of the Army (CSA).
