DESCRIPTION

Bruno Viani enlisted in the New York National Guard in 1939, and completed Officer Candidate School in 1943. Sent to Europe with the 100th Infantry Division, he participated in the Allied advance across France in 1944. While leading his platoon on 06 November, Viani was seriously wounded by a German sniper.
